America’s last highway: A photographer travels to the deserted West

Crossing a large swath of the West, Highway 93 traverses 1,457 miles from Montana’s border with Canada to Wickenburg, a town of less than 7,000 people just north of Phoenix.

It also holds the distinction of connecting Phoenix and Las Vegas, the two largest cities in America not connected by an interstate.

But that won’t be the case for much longer, as a new interstate will soon be constructed on top of the crumbling asphalt of Highway 93.
