Remembering Break-in Novelty “Songs”

Back in the 1950s, Dickie Goodman and Bill Buchanan pioneered the use of popular song clips to humorously answer questions posed during a recorded interview. The format proved popular, and radio personalities added their own spin to the idea over time.

If you’re a long-time reader of this blog, you may have seen the occasional post about a break-in recording that I unearthed sometime in the mid-1990s while trawling around AOL back in the day. My hope is that I can one day find the person who made these recordings and thank them for the entertainment they brought and the quirky sense of humor they helped foster.
