This photo was probably taken summer of 1999 or 2000 on what might have been the hottest day of the year at Lost Mountain Park. It was far too hot to play Ultimate Frisbee without collapsing from heatstroke and just when it seemed that our shoes would melt to the asphalt, the sprinklers activated.
I’m telling you, there’s nothing like running through industrial sprinklers to beat the Georgia heat, but only Mr. Lynch and I were bold (stupid?) enough to risk the high-pressure jets. Yes, we probably lost a few layers of epidermis, but what price is that compared to the fires of Cobb County Perdition?
